Daniel Friel

Associate Professor of Strategic Management at the University of San Andrés

Dr. Daniel Friel is an Associate Professor of Strategic Management at the University of San Andrés in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  He received a PhD in Political Science at the New School for Social Research.  His work focuses on the impact of institutions on the strategies and export policies of firms in Latin America.  He has taught classes for universities ranging from New York University to the ESCP in Paris.  He has conducted research on Argentine Multinationals such as Arcor, IMPSA and Los Grobo as well as on smaller firms in the wooden furniture and wine sectors in this country.  He has published in academia journals such as the Journal of Development Economics, Human Relations and the Academy of Management Perspectives. He has also worked for Prudential Securities and the Swiss Consulting Group as a consultant advising executives how to adapt their operations to the institutional contexts of different countries.
