Pedro de Camargo Neto
Pedro de Camargo Neto is a trade and agriculture policy consultant. He holds a Doctorate in Engineering from Escola Politécnica, USP - Universidade de São Paulo, and a Master of Science from MIT - Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has been President of various agribusiness associations: ABIPECS - Associação Brasileira da Industria Produtora e Exportadora de Carne Suina – 2006 – 2013; FUNDEPEC – Fundo de Desenvolvimento da Pecuária de São Paulo – 1992 – 2000; Sociedade Rural Brasileira 1990 – 1992. He was Secretary of Production and Trade of the Ministry of Agriculture from 2000- 2002. In this capacity, he was responsible for agriculture negotiations for the Government of Brazil. He was member of the National Monetary Council of the Government of Brazil 2004- 2005, National Council of Agriculture Policy 2001 – 2003. He has participated in the Board of various companies: Radar Propriedades Agrícolas SA; Banco Mercantil de São Paulo; Companhia Açucareira Vale do Rosário; CEAGESP Armazéns Gerais de São Paulo. He was Director and Member of the International Food and Agriculure Trade Policy Council. He was Professor in Escola de Engenharia Mauá. He is author of the book “Pensamento Rural – Reflexões sobre o Desenvolvimento Brasileiro” and of more than a hundred articles published in important journals and magazines. He is a rancher and farmer in São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul and Piauí.
